BSA (m²) = K × Weight(kg)2/3, with K = 10.1 for dogs and K = 10.0 for cats — the standard constants used across veterinary oncology references. A custom K can be entered for other species from your own source.
Amount to add (mg) = Dose Rate (mcg/kg/min) × Weight (kg) × Bag Volume (mL) ÷ (Fluid Rate (mL/hr) × 16.67). The 16.67 factor is simply the unit conversion between per-minute dosing and per-hour delivery (mcg to mg, and minutes to hours) — not an arbitrary constant. Remember to withdraw the equivalent volume of fluid from the bag before adding the drug, so the final bag volume matches what the calculation assumes.
